The Trustees created the Putnam Conservation Institute (PCI) in 2003 to increase the capacity of the conservation community to protect, care for, and interpret the natural and cultural resources of Massachusetts.

PCI works to further partnerships and share knowledge among land conservationists, historic preservationists, watershed associations, state agencies, municipal commissions, and others. The Trustees of Reservations launched PCI with the understanding that no single nonprofit organization or agency can do all the work necessary to safeguard Massachusetts' beloved landscapes and landmarks. By investing in the conservation community in the broadest sense, The Trustees believe that we can make a bigger difference--together.

Based at The Trustees' gold-rated "green" building, The Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster, MA, PCI sponsors and co-sponsors in-person training and networking events for the conservation community in Massachusetts and also administers the ConservationCommon.
